Benny Landa, as keynote speaker, is set to open the 4th Online Print Symposium in Munich

The program for the 4th Online Print Symposium in 2016 has been confirmed and it is more high-caliber and more international than ever before. Why do I sound so euphoric? That’s probably because we have signed up Benny Landa as the keynote speaker. Benny will open the Online Print Symposium on Day 1 and I am really looking forward to hearing about his insights and visions, because he has revolutionized digital print.

But other well-known online print providers, like Flyeralarm, Unitedprint, Onlineprinters and Laser Tryk, will also provide delegates with an insight into what happening behind the scenes. It’s a Who’s Who of the online print industry – not just on the stage but also in the audience.

The online print segment in Germany, Austria and Switzerland is doubtless one of the media industry’s growth sectors – but the challenges in online print are increasing day by day. Price pressure, new service offerings and demand for ever-growing product portfolios are constantly confronting companies operating in this line of business with new challenges and with the question of “how can sustainable growth be achieved?”

In this respect being online is not enough; agile business models are what’s required to meet future market challenges efficiently and effectively. The Online Print Symposium is where the “movers and shakers of the online print industry” are sure to rendezvous with their peers and their networks as well as hear about inspirational solutions, ideas and visions from top speakers from Germany and abroad.

We, the organizers, are delighted that a high-flyer of the caliber of Benny Landa has committed to give the opening keynote on March 17. Benny is not only a visionary, he has changed the print industry to a substantial degree. He is regarded as the pioneer of digital print and, as we all know, digital print is what has enabled us in the online print industry to react to changed customer requirements in terms of diversity, flexibility and customization. We are coming full circle.

But commitments by Dr. Christian Maaß from Flyeralarm, who will debut as the keynote speaker on Day 2 of the Symposium, or by Ali Jason Bazooband from Unitedprint, Tina Halberschmidt from Handelsblatt – to name just a couple of the speakers from the print and media industry – are to my mind the Symposium’s highlights and they make the program unique and at the same time cover all bases.

Another highlight is the presentation by Max Wittrock from mymuesli; he is going to talk about his company’ success story and about customized mymuesli packaging as an example of “Food Packaging 2.0” as well as about the benefits of mass customization.

“The online print market in Germany, Austria and Switzerland continues to grow steadily, because online print and sales via procurement portals are currently the fastest growing business models in print sales. However you also have to know how to apply and augment the various business models properly.” Bernd Zipper, Initiator, Speaker and Co-organizer

You’re not going to believe it, even I couldn’t get my head round it: the program has barely been online and we get swamped by a gigantic wave of registrations, meaning we are now almost booked out and will probably have to work with waiting lists from January onwards.

If that’s not a reason to be pleased and to have a sense of anticipation. This clearly shows me what status the Online Print Symposium has in the industry. So if you still want to reserve your place at the Online Print Symposium, you need to act quickly. www.online-print-symposium.de/en/registration

My take: It’s that time of year again and for 2 days – March 17 and 18, 2016 – Munich will again be the capital of the online print industry and the platform for a unique industry event, the Online Print Symposium. The event is organized by the The German Printing and Media Industries Federation, Fogra and zipcon consulting. A total of 600 entrepreneurs, CEOs and decision-makers have come to Munich in the last three years and obviously enjoyed the positive atmosphere, the absorbing program and the great networking opportunities. All those interested in attending will find detailed information and registration options in the Convention Program at www.online-print-symposium.de/en/
