“Smartpaper” – this is the name of a new in-house advertising product of the FUNKE Media Group. A personalized newspaper for advertisers, the Smartpaper is a continuation of FUNKE’s original product, the Smartpaper One, which won a Print Innovation Award in 2018.
Advertisers will have the opportunity to promote their product of choice on at least eight pages. Each newspaper will be personally addressed to the reader. The Funke Media group will also offer advertisers the opportunity to address subscribers directly from FUNKE subscriber address book. The address pool is broken down according to age as well as life and financial situation in order to be able to address readers in a targeted manner. After completion, the product is delivered to its customers by mail and given the FUNKE daily newspaper stamp.
The managing Director of FUNKE Druck, Dr. Klemens Berktold, is certain: “New technologies make it possible to print newspapers with variable data – even from a single print run. Now we are pleased about the personalized newspaper in large circulation as an innovative advertising medium. It establishes a new product group for the printing sector for internal and external customers.”
The first Smartpaper is set to be delivered on July 18th but will only be offered to national advertising customers. In the immediate future, FUNKE Media group will also open up for the possibility of regional marketing.
