Spread Group (including “Spreadshirt” and “Teamshirts”) is starting up a new production facility in Legnica, Poland, the company announced. Spread Group has been based in the city for 13 years. The new building provides space for an enlarged warehouse, expanded machinery with different printing technologies and more office space covering a total area of almost 11,000 square meters. Around 200 employees work at the Legnica site, with more to follow.
The Spread Group, which introduced its new CEO Julian de Grahl in January, uses the site as a central warehouse for its production operations in Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland. The current warehouse capacity for about 4,500 products is expected to be doubled or even tripled, says Hanne Dinkel, the company’s chief customer delivery officer.
In addition to machines for the finishing methods of foil printing, thermal sublimation and poster and sticker printing, additional state-of-the-art digital direct printers have been installed. Newly developed machines for printing on polyester products and for embroidering clothing are to be added in the near future.
The Legnica site is one of five Spread Group production facilities. In 2020, a total of 9.8 million products were printed at the various sites and shipped to customers worldwide. The print-on-demand provider plans to further increase the number of printed products in 2021.
