Bernd Zipper is considered a visionary in the printing industry for good reason. He has been explaining and predicting many trends for years – such as in an interview with the marketing magazine, “Horizont“. Developments such as mass customization and automation are now indispensable in the print sector. Many are therefore worried that the industry could die out. However, Zipper is still an optimist who sees the end of print still a long way off. Nevertheless, digitization brings with it work: “The entire industry, whether publishers or printers, must develop recipes for better integration of print and online,” says Zipper, who remains convinced.
In the interview, he also reveals how good print products stimulate the brain. Print is thus on the right track, as one thing is certain: evolution and the brain are not a trend that will fade away. Although Zipper gave the interview almost two years ago, his statements and ideas are still relevant today. The entire conversation is now freely readable online and continues to offer interesting insights into the present and future of the print industry.
