Since the beginning of the year, third-party sellers in the U.S. have been able to process their customers’ orders via Amazon’s “Buy with Prime” fulfillment service. This new e-commerce solution has proven itself in beta, increasing conversion rates by an average of 25%, according to Amazon.
Integrating online retailers’ own store is said to be simple and quick. Prime customers can rely on the usual quality of Prime, including free delivery within 1-2 days and returns.
Online stores have the advantage of being able to advertise with Prime, which helps to attract new customers. They can also display Amazon’s reviews on their own website. The cost of this new feature is not known. But they are said to consist of fees for service, payment processing, shipping and storage, but without fixed usage fees and long-term contracts that can be canceled at any time.
Amazon says it is pleased with the program so far and is already planning its next steps in the D2C market. It is not yet known when Europe can expect the new feature. So let’s wait and see if the tool really brings as much conversion as it promises.
