If you want to grow, you need space. And the Celebrate Company, which is best known in the printing industry for its “die Kartenmacherei” brand, is growing rapidly – by over 20 percent, as Co-CEO Patrick Leibold explained to beyond-print.de. The associated print shop, Celebrate Digital Printing GmbH in Schramberg, was therefore increasingly reaching the limits of its capacity. Now the company is moving to a 5,000 square meter building in Villingen-Schwenningen with plenty of expansion options for the future.
“The premises in Schramberg would no longer have been sufficient for the Christmas business in 2022, so we had to act quickly,” says Patrick Leibold. “A new building, which was originally planned, would have taken too long and would have been too risky due to potential supply bottlenecks. Although we would have liked to have built a new one to meet all our wishes and requirements, we ended up ‘stumbling’ across our new hall and were immediately in love. Even though another company was last producing from there, the building was originally built for a print shop and to very modern standards. We couldn’t have planned it better ourselves.” For example, the new production site is equipped with a modern ventilation system and a high-bay warehouse.
While the lease was signed in mid-December 2021, planning has been in full swing ever since. The first steps have already been taken. The actual move is scheduled to begin in March and be completed successively by summer, so that ongoing operations are ensured at all times. From the end of August, the co-CEO reckons, Celebrate Digital Printing GmbH will be in full production at the new site. “This should also ensure that the Christmas business can be completely covered by the new production,” says Leibold.
It is not yet certain whether all 120 employees of Celebrate Digital Printing GmbH will actually move from Schramberg-Sulgen to Villingen-Schwenningen, a good 23 km away. However, it is the goal of the Celebrate Company. “We are therefore holding numerous talks to find individual solutions and are offering various support services. In addition to a shuttle service to the production site, these can include additional fuel costs or daycare places,” explains Leibold. The company is also looking for additional skilled workers. More than 100 additional employees in all areas are the goal, according to Leibold: in marketing, production and administration.
And the company also wants to invest in its machinery. While the print shop recently commissioned new printing and die-cutting machines, more printing and finishing machines for greater automation are on the agenda this year.
In terms of space, Celebrate Digital Printing GmbH also has further options at the new site: “It has already been agreed with the owners of the site that an additional production hall of the same size will be built on the site. The site will thus grow by a further 10,000 square meters. This will also enable us to accommodate growth there in the coming years,” says Patrick Leibold, summing up the advantages of the new site.
