0

Why are you a publishing freak? In other words, someone who, by Duden’s definition, is enthusiastic about something in a way that seems excessive. Editors, media designers and publishers of all kinds have probably asked themselves this question at some point in the night while sitting at their desk in front of half-finished work. Now the community of jabberfish wants the answer from the two protagonists themselves, Haeme Ulrich and Bernd Zipper.

The biography of the Swiss is not so dissimilar to that of the German. Both started into the unknown, but with the intention of making the world a little bit better. Their paths could not be more different. That’s what the two describe in their latest podcast. In the process, you can hear that the world of publishing has always been accompanied by technical innovations and changes. However, the curated communication of information, the dissemination of knowledge to the broadest possible mass, has remained the driving force. And this is where the two get reflective in their media challenge. Episode 5 inspires reflection on current online publishing formats. Against the backdrop of the German Chancellor calling Twitter’s blocking of Trump’s account a problematic violation of state sovereign rights by a private-sector company, one can reflect on this out loud and also give the duo direct feedback, as requested.
