If that wasn’t a strong exclamation mark! The first day of the Online Print Symposium is over – and has provided the 300 or so participants from all over the world with important impulses, innovative business ideas and valuable industry insights relating to online printing. There was also a very special surprise to mark the tenth anniversary.
While Robert Keane, founder and CEO of the online print pioneer Cimpress, looked back on the most important milestones of online printing and ventured a forecast for the fourth decade, Bernd Zipper from zipcon consulting described what online printers should definitely consider in order to be successful in the future. In addition, Mark Young, Managing Director Print at the Bluetree Group, revealed how to be commercially successful even without price discounts. And Dr. Ralph Dittmann, CEO of the WKS Group, explained why innovation rather than prohibitions should count when it comes to sustainability in online printing.
The first OPS day also focused on “Mass Production vs. Mass Customization” (in a panel discussion with Dr. Michael Fries, Vista, and Dr. Ralph Dittmann, WKS), as well as “predictive production with the help of artificial intelligence” (Tobias Kaase, Managing Director, and Dominik Haacke, Key Account Manager E-Commerce at mediaprint solutions GmbH), and the six start-ups that presented themselves in the popular Insight Pitches: ayke labs, grow.photos, two worlds, prinnit.de, Boxsys, and Tessitura.
For those who would rather have a look than read a lot, we have put together a small picture gallery of the first day of the Online Print Symposium. And for those who still want to know more about what the presentations at #OPS2023 were all about, we will be publishing detailed follow-up reports here on beyond-print.de at the beginning of next week (and beyond).
