In view of the digital alternatives, advertising brochures are no longer up to date – and even worse, they are climate killers. This is precisely what is often cited by those who have just discontinued their printed offer communication or are planning to do so. Neither the one nor the other is true, as Dr Ralph Dittmann, Managing Director of the WKS Group, impressively demonstrated at the Online Print Symposium 2023 with the help of current figures.

The Online Print Symposium 2022 is fast approaching. For a long time, the online print industry has been waiting and hoping to finally exchange ideas in person once again- in just over 6 weeks, the time has finally come. The popular OPS app is now launched and this time available in German and English. All participants will be able to use the app free of charge. It not only provides an overview of the speakers and start-ups, but also presents the programme and the partners of the accompanying exhibition.

Until the very end, we, the bvdm and zipcon as organizers, had hoped to be able to hold the OPS in early June as planned. Due to the decision of the German parliament stating that “the epidemic situation of a national scope that was declared due to the corona pandemic will continue to apply for an additional three months until 30 June,” this is now no longer possible.

In March 2020, the Online Print Symposium was the last industry event before the Corona Lockdown. Since then, it is not only the online print industry that has changed. We have also been affected by the fact that the crisis has meant massive losses for many companies. Yet this situation also offers new opportunities. We have taken advantage of this and reinvented the OPS. Especially now, in times of crisis, the online print industry is developing rapidly and is showing its enormous potential.
